Micromax has launched a new 3G-enabled tablet, the Canvas Tab P680, priced at Rs. 9,499. The new voice-calling tablet from Micromax will be available via physical and online retailers in metallic copper colour starting Saturday.

The highlight of the tablet is that it supports 3G connectivity and comes with dual-SIM support (one regular SIM and another Micro-SIM) with voice-calling via hands-free.

The Micromax Canvas Tab P680 features an 8-inch (1280×800 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Android 5.0 Lollipop-based tablet comes with 16GB inbuilt storage that is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

The tablet sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, apart from a 2-megapixel front camera. Apart from 3G, the Canvas Tab P680 tablet supports USB OTG, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB connectivity options. It packs a 4000mAh battery. The company touts that the Canvas Tab P680 sports built-in dual box speakers and metallic finish.

Commenting on the launch, Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics, said, “With the launch of this new tablet model P680, users will get the best immersive audio and video experience, giving them full- fledged entertainment.”

Notably, Micromax earlier this year launched the Canvas Tab P690 at Rs. 8,999. The tablet came with almost identical specifications as the new Canvas Tab P680. The only difference difference appears to be that the Canvas Tab P690 packs an Intel chipset, though Micromax hasn’t clarified whether the Canvas Tab P680 also packs an Intel chipset.

Also in June, Micromax launched a ‘dual-mode family tablet’ dubbed the Canvas Tabby at Rs. 6,499.
